Childhood is an adventure but in today’s world, it’s too often traded for screens, schedules, and stress. We created The Adventure Institute to bring back what matters most: curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Rooted in Scandinavian principles of simplicity, safety, and respect for nature, our micro-adventures are designed to make meaningful play effortless for modern families. Each kit transforms ordinary moments into opportunities for growth sparking curiosity, building resilience, and strengthening bonds between children and the people who guide them.
What begins as hands-on survival skills will grow into a series of life lessons practical, playful, and powerful, that set children up for success in the outdoors and beyond.

Founder
Lisa Olsen founded The Adventure Institute with a simple belief: childhood should be an adventure. Raised in Sweden and shaped by life across three continents and 44 countries, she’s seen how play connects children everywhere and how easily it’s replaced by screens and schedules. Inspired by Scandinavian principles of resilience and care, Lisa set out to create micro-adventures that make it effortless for families to nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection. Her vision: to equip the next generation with skills that last a lifetime, through play that feels exciting and magical.

Elaine Green brings imagination to life as Head of Creative at The Adventure Institute. With experience in acting, music, children’s development, she is passionate about making learning feel like play. From crafting engaging elements to writing and recording music, Elaine Green ensures every box sparks wonder and empowers children to explore, discover, and grow.
