Kids who feel at home outside
Brave, curious and outside. That’s why we started The Adventure Institute.
Get more kids outside and make it a habit for life.
Why I Started The Adventure Institute
I grew up in Sweden, where being outside was simply part of life. Rain or shine, we learned to read the weather, find our way and look out for each other in the woods. Nobody called it a lesson. It was just childhood play.
Now I’m a mom of two, and I want that for my kids too. But I also know that not every child grows up with the same confidence outside.
In 2020, a friend who was new to the outdoors went on a beginner trip and never came home. It stayed with me. Because knowing how to be outside is more than a hobby. It builds confidence, independence and skills that can help keep us safe.
That’s why I started The Adventure Institute.
We creates short audio adventures that get kids outside, noticing, exploring and learning real outdoor skills through play. The story gives them a reason to look closer. The outdoors does the teaching.
My hope is simple: that more kids grow up feeling at home outside and build a lifelong habit of exploring it.

Our promise to you
- Eyes up. Ears out. Press play, go outside and look around. Listen.
- No ads. No ads in our stories. Just the adventure.
- No plan required. Press play wherever you are: a park, a backyard, a trail.
How we make our adventures
- Rooted in friluftsliv. The Swedish idea that open-air life is part of every day, not a special trip.
- Fun play while noticing. Lumi helps kids find it, Nova helps them figure it out, and Astrid helps them master it.
- Shaped with families. We interviewed parents and tested with real families before making a single adventure.
